The 'Dynamic Views' allow you to choose how you want to look at the blog from the various options under the header bar although I can specify a default view.
Of course, it means that my sidebars etc disappear - as does my 'subscribe box' but I will live with this for the moment in the pursuit of at least having people able to comment on the posts. I can't see much point in having a blog with no interaction!
