Dialog Visual is Moving House

I've moved house a lot in my life, the buzz of a new place energizes me. I've lived in the house of Blogger for a long while now and it feels like a change is long overdue. Having considered all the options, I've decided to just switch to using my Dialog Visual Magazine on Tumblr as my main blog.

Moving from Blogger to Tumblr reminds me of when I switched from from a PC to a Mac: There's not nearly so many possibilities for 'getting under the hood' but that frees me up to just get on and create content in a generally glitch-free environment.

More Diverse Content in the Dialog Magazine

It's never worked to take all my furniture with me to another house, I always have to let go of some stuff and that's a healthy thing to do. For this reason, I'll not be taking all my old content with me to Tumblr though I might repost a few past items from time to time in order to bring them to a new audience.

Likewise, a new house offers the opportunity for new furnishings so you can expect some different types of content in the magazine:

Firstly, as well as my mixed media artwork, you'll get to see my 'photoart' which are photos taken on my iPhone and digitally manipulated or collaged. I've usually posted these over at Tumblr or on Instagram or Pinterest so many of you won't have seen them.

Gone will be a list of blogs I follow in the sidebar where instead you will find a direct visual feed of other people's Tumblr posts I've enjoyed. I'll supplement that with more posts, like the Flipboard one I did recently,  featuring other people's articles or blogs. I might even occasionally 'repost' someone else's Tumblr post which is a social facility that Tumblr offers so you definititely won't be missing out on finding out about where to find the good stuff!

The content of the magazine will remain mostly focussed on art and creativity in some form or other, but it will have an excitingly wider scope - encompassing more disciplines such as architecture and interior design (especially of the green/sustainable kind), typography, illustration, film and more. There will be a few eclectic wildcards thrown in the mix from time to time as well.

In general the posts will be shorter and more visual (yep, we're busy peeps) but for those of you who like to get your teeth into something substantial, you can still expect some longies now and then ;)

Make Your Presence Felt

If you have a Tumblr blog yourself, you'll be familiar with the ways in which you can like and repost other tumblrs but all you non-tumbloggers can still post comments on the DV magazine via the Disqus system. Just click on the 'comment' tag under the posts. The template I'm using is excellently coded and very stable so I'm looking forward to at last sharing a trouble free dialog with you! So please don't be shy :)

How to receive the Dialog Visual Magazine feed

If you are subscribed to my to receive my feed via email, in theory you shouldn't have to do a thing! Tomorrow I will adjust the feed to send you my Tumblr magazine instead of this one. I hope you'll love it and be stimulated by the change as much as I am but if not, of course you can always unsubscribe by clicking on the link at the bottom of the mail.

Rss

If you normally follow this blog via an RSS feed then you'll need to subscribe to the new feed. You can do this now by clicking this link: http://dialogvisual.tumblr.com/rss or by copying the link into your feed reader.

Well, that's it everyone. Thank you so much for all the support and encouragement you've given me over my time here. I really hope to continue sharing my journey with you. See you on the DV Magazine on Tumblr!
